Reference Project: Hydraulic Pump

Oil cooling Hydraulic pump
Industrialist and Managing director Andreas Assfalg has a visit from Nikolas Hertle the head of the Department of Innovation IHK Ulm. In his luggage he has "Top Wissenschaft" (a science magazine) as a print magazine, but also there is the new online reference and it is for the seeking companies very user friendly, all the relevant information are listed. There are comments that in a few clicks the partners you are looking for can be found.
Even at the beginning Managing director Assfalg knew not to whom he should turn to. His question, however, was clear: "How can the oil cooling of a hydraulic pump work more efficiently?".
Andreas Assfalg: "We knew that there are scientists who can help us. But after a long Internet search and contact via e-mail there was no response. Then I met Mr. Hertle, who said that at the University of Ulm there are top scientists. Ulm is a stronghold of science, there are many excellent scientists.
Assfalg made a find at the Ulm Institute of Numerically Mathematics at the University of Ulm. The mathematicians among others simulate the growth of bones or the behavior of fluids such as the oil in Assfalg's hydraulic system. But the institute also benefits from the new cooperation.
"We have found that often small businesses have demanding problems", Karsten Urban, Professor of Numerically Mathematics, said, "as a result we have always very realistic problems in which we can do research. Also we can offer our students a very practical training and education. This means that we can include this in our lectures, seminars and internships”.
A win-win situation for both, Industrialist and University, that would not have been possible without “Top Wissenschaft”.
